William Larue Weller is an uncut and unfiltered wheated bourbon. In its inception, it was called Weller 19 but was discontinued for five years and re-introduced as William Larue Weller in the Fall of 2005 (with an average of 12 years 5 months). Most whiskey experts suggest the partnership with Julian Van Winkle III in 2002 led to the re-imagining of the Weller BTAC. The premium aged wheated whiskeys reserve was set aside for Pappy bourbon, and William Larue Weller was born. Which is the best William Larue Weller year? My personal favorite has been 2019, but I’m on a mission to give you a more data-based answer!
