Nose – 93 out of 100 Points

The aromas are bold. I’m picking up a lot of vanilla followed by baking spice. I’m also getting Vanilla Wafer and subtle oak.

Taste – 92 out of 100 Points

The vanilla is more subtle on the palate. I get caramelized brown sugar, oak, and nutter butter. I’m also picking up a hint of caramel apple. Black peppercorn (which tingles the tongue) rounds out the back of the palate.

Finish – 94 out of 100 Points

The finish is long with notes of dry oak, charred cinnamon, and subtle vanilla sweetness. Maybe just a splash of black coffee.

Complexity – 93 out of 100 Points

The complexity is phenomenal from nose to finish. The flavors are balanced and delicious. Rare Breed Bourbon is a home run.

Value – 95 out of 100 Points

Rare Breed is $50. Let me repeat myself. It’s only $50 and readily available all the time. This barrel proof bourbon should be a staple in your bourbon bunker.

Verdict – Gold 93.4 out of 100 Points
