You may be asking, “What bourbon is releasing this week?” Well, new bourbon release dates are not an exact science. Not all bourbon releases are available nationwide and each state’s allotment will be different. We recommend setting up a Google alert for your desired bourbon release and check with your local store for exact details.

We will also cover bourbon adjacent releases. No, this whiskey release calendar will not include vodka. We know better. But we will include whiskey release dates for rye whiskeys, American whiskeys, American single malts, and more.

The Fall isn’t the only time of year when bourbon geeks can find great bourbon as you will see. Distilleries are working year-round to create great bourbon, so find out what’s hitting the marketing and make hunting easy again.

Bourbon Release Dates by Month (2021)

Check out our 2021 bourbon release calendar by month. After you find the release info, you’re looking for, don’t forget to set up a Google alert for your desired bourbon release and check with your local store for exact details.

Bourbon Releases by Label (2021)

This section will be updated quarterly. The current labels are from 10/01/2020 to 12/23/2020 (TTB). The easiest way to find what you want is to sort by the criteria below or use the search.

• Distilled Spirits Producer # – Some distilleries have multiple DSPs
• Brand Name – Search for your favorite distillery
• Details – Could be the expression or bottle details
• Distilled in – Search by your favorite state
• Bourbon Type – Looking for bottled in bond bourbons, or only straight bourbon whiskey?
• Label & Details – Want to see what the label may look like?

Please remember this section includes bourbon rumors. Not everything that’s approved by the TTB ends up on the liquor store shelf. Once the labels show up here, and we see a press release with a release date, the bourbon rumor becomes a reality. Even then, sometimes a release is canceled (see Booker’s 2020-04 batch, now 2021-04 batch).

How to Setup Alerts for Bourbon Releases

Congrats. You’ve found a bourbon or whiskey you want to hunt for and, hopefully, crack and share with friends. Now what? I recommend setting up Google alerts for that whiskey release. Here’s how:

Bourbon Hunting Tips

First, no single way to hunt bourbon works for every bourbon drinker. The old school method is to find a store, make friends with the workers, spend a crap ton of money, but that doesn’t work for everyone.

• For Allocated Bourbons
  • I just said this doesn’t work for everyone, but befriending a local store and spending money is still a great method if you’re looking for rare, allocated, and limited release bourbons like Pappy Van Winkle or BTAC — and have money to blow
  • I know guys who make store connections by muling a ton of whiskey, beer, and wine for the local group
  • Enter as many lotteries as you can — look at adjacent states
  • Make friends with your local distributor reps
  • Camp out at stores and distilleries for first come, first serve limited releases
  • Plan a good ol’ fashion bourbon road trip — out of state weekend trips to states with better allocations or hitting every store within your local radius
  • Be a tater and stalk the bourbon delivery truck
• For Delicious Single Barrels
  
  • Single Barrels are the new limited release, so find a bourbon group that picks great bourbon and be active
  • Join an online group with a monthly subscription like Bourbon Pursuit or Bourbon Enthusiast
  • The most important thing — find a group that picks bourbon that fits your palate
• For Trading
  • My philosophy is to buy what I can find and trade with other bourbon enthusiasts to get what I love to drink
  • Swap samples with other bourbon enthusiasts — share your good stuff to get the good stuff
  • Find a good national group and local group. Be genuine. Share what you have. Make friends. The bourbon community is generous and loves to share
